I’m Cherith Logan! Thanks for stopping by!
Interior spaces have been a passion of mine since I was about 8 years old, when I started filling up graph paper with imaginary home plans, school layouts, and orphanage designs.
Since then, I’ve had the privilege of working in residences, offices, and event gathering spaces so they best reflect their purpose and the people in them. That’s when a space finds its soul.
My approach
New vs. used
Maybe it was my dad’s back-road garage sale ventures that convinced me early on that used didn’t mean useless. Rather, used things might just need a different purpose, a fresh coat of paint, or a new location to shine their brightest. The goal is to draw out a home’s personality, beginning with what just needs a little refreshing. From that starting point, I make suggestions about new items, ideas, and projects, and can accompany you through design choices so you have confidence to move ahead.
A small budget vs. a large budget
It’s been said that “constraint is the ground for creativity”, and I couldn’t agree more. After years of working with non-profits, living abroad in various rentals, and moving to new places on limited funds, I’ve thrived on the need to improvise in order to create homes our family could love. Maybe you just need someone to help you narrow down paint colors or to send you a list of DIY projects and supplies you’ll need to tackle a project. Budget-friendly and creative solutions are foundational principles in my work.
The latest trend vs. true beauty
Farmhouse. Industrial. Mid-century. Japandi. Each style has its perspective on what is beautiful, but each relies on the same principles of design: unified color schemes, mathematical ratios, and arrangement promoting human interactions. These principles were originated by the Designer of all things, and when I apply them, I am, at best, imitating His beauty. Whatever the style, He’s the reason it can be beautiful.
